What is New Rev?
We are searching for a better name. The current name was recommended by a previous board member but we now realize it was a poor choice. Let us know if you have a good suggestion. New Rev is a Christian religious community of faith that engages college students in the priesthood of all believers. As a ministry of the Reformed Church in America, New Rev equips college students attending secular universities for Christ-centered, biblically based, theologically integrated, culturally competent, leadership in and for the world. New Rev offers off campus housing to college students attending state universities. The housing contract involves students in an intentional Christian community of religious faith. Students participate in leadership formation through; small group mentoring, participation in the Christian community, increasing leadership responsibilities, reading recommended books, attending meetings and community or civic involvement. Leadership formation plans are adapted to meet each student’s spiritual gifts, abilities, schedules and desired outcome. How can I sign up for housing with New Rev?
We are always accepting applications but space is very limited. Select the Program Application tab under Students on the top menu of this website. The process for application involves your application plus a personal interview. Once your application and interview approve you as a potential student, a refundable deposit will reserve your room in the community. We have four locations, three are walking distance from UNT and the other is a few miles out of town (less then 15 minutes drive to all campus locations). If you are interested, then you should apply now. Our current process of selection is only based on when your application arrives and is approved. Currently we do not have space for female students to live however you are welcome to participate. Note: we do not accept every application. Are you only one denomination?
Although we are a ministry of the Reformed Church in America, we are not one denomination in practice. As a community we believe Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. He died on the cross for our sins and rose again. We believe in the Trinity; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Bible is the Word of God and our guide to living a Christian life. All other Christian beliefs and traditions are up to each individual to practice. What is the Mission and Vision of New Rev?

Christian Community Living is a primary focus of this ministry. You are expected to participate in your house and community living. This means interacting with your housemates, at more than just the weekly meetings. Each house will develop and maintain their own covenant and keep each other accountable to it or change it as needed. Each house has a house leader and they generally change every semester so that most students will get an opportunity to be a house leader. Our hope is that your housemates become your best friends, the first people you contact when you have a problem or need help. This means that you will need to spend time with your housemates for fun, sharing and caring. |
